Woah..!1.5 MB..hmm..Well i guess it worth trying..
Is it faster., and secured than Firefox.,?
Please note- it is nothing but a shell to Internet Explorer – Under the hood, it is still IE. Because of this, it cannot be any faster than IE – it is just your perception.
@lemurian – I guess so…I have started using…it.It blocks pop ups.
But Security – i am not sure..
@Jaganath – Even if its a shell to IE, but i feel its faster…has’nt crashed much…
How can a Browser make data transfer faster? I can’t see a logic here – It depends on the server response time and the connection speed mostly and the browser is just a client app which sends and receives the requests – the lower end of browser’s processing times is probably already faster the fastest connectivity speeds and the server response times. Even if the sending and receiving of requests is made faster – it doesn’t matter.
@Bhuvans – IMO- It’s just your physiological perception. And if you are talking of crashing then try IE7 Beta 2 which is pretty stable for a beta and certainly better. Btw, how many times in a day does your browser crash anyway?
Guys.. IE7 is too archaic.. its jst doing what other browsers had like 2-3 yrs back..
Try firefox.. its the best.. and you cannot judge it without using its endless choice of extensions (plugins).. only issue i guess is its memory footprint.. which is being fixed in firefox v3 branch..
@summe – have you used IE7? Pls do it before passing on your “Assumptions” as facts. What exactly changed in Firefox in the last one or two years?
IE7 has tabbed browsing, and much more! Infact many benchmarked IE7 beta 2 as more secure than Firefox…
@vanand – Will surely try IE7..
And Regarding Crashing…My Yahoo Beta always crashes…And it takes more time in IE6 for logging in..But when i tried Advanced Browser its loging me in faster..I am not sure whether its my perception or not…
Anyway thanks for ur proposal for IE7..I will surely try and let you know.
BTW can you tell me, Where i can get IE7..Can i upgrade my IE6 directly using windows update ??
So, what’s it then: IE7/ Advanced Browser/ Firefox?
@ Bhuvans: Interesting blog. Will be back for more.
@bhuvans – IE7 RC is out for now and the RTM will be out pretty soon. You can probably wait for the RTM to hit the market. In case you can’t wait to see the beta then here, you can download it from Microsoft website – http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/default.mspx
The fastest browser I have used so far is Opera. That said, I find Flock to have the best features-benefits package and use it every day at work and at home. I am not thrilled with the UI in IE7 and although I have the latest build from Microsoft, I don’t foresee using it as much as Flock. Oh, and if you didn’t know already, Flock is built on the same Mozilla engine as Firefox and is thus compatible with Firefox extensions and themes. Okay, done pimping my flock.
I am using Advanced Browser for last few months. its quite user friendly. I reinstalled my windows & i got a trouble, i m aunbale to type anything in the Google toolbar in Advamced brouser. I reintalled both Advanced browser & Google toolbar several times but no use. The Google toolbar is working fine with IE7.Can anybody tell me to fix this problem.
