I’m Shashi. Next week I have interview with one of the worlds leading banking corporate. I’m working for a small MNC which has only a couple of branches through out the world. And I’m afraid of the question “Why do you want to leave your past company”. I know I should not say -ve about my past company. I can except better growth with the company that has branches all over the world. Still I’m afraid of the question. Could you please suggest some more practical answers for this question. Help is much appreciated.

well…i have a japplet where i have a static jlist field. i have another thread class where i am trying to access static jlist of this japplet. but i’m getting -1 as the value each time i try to do it. means the thread class is not able to get the selected index of this list. can you pls suggest me some good way or errors in this approach……also how can i access static variables in japplet ?

I am in Sales & Marketing of medical equipment for several years.
As there is limited opportunities in job search of medical equipment, I like to expand my search to include sales & marketing in other fields (outside of medical) say for instance being a recruitment consultant for heathcare or business development for a recuitment company (basically source for companies looking for candidates).
Question 1: The interviewer will ask, why do you want to switch to recuitment consulting instead of marketing of medical equipment. What’s the better answer, cause I am broadening my job scope search & would like to give selling of service a try.
Question 2: Most employers would state in their requirements as having say 2 -3 years in sales of certain industry. Again, if I want to widen my search, how can I can their attention of I don’t have the actual experience. How can I “show” or “convince” that my transferable skills are applicable ?

I have an interview in the morning and am a lot intimidated b/c I have recently been in mild conflict with my boss and she is the one I must interview with for this new position. Because she has listened to another female who does not care for me, she thinks I am a blubbering idiot I am sure even though she herself asked me to interview for this position. There will be a committee interviewing. Someone please let me in on what I might be asked and how I can answer that will make this woman see me as compentent. Thanks a LOLT

I gotten some useful information here, but some of my struggles for answers were not addressed.
Like how to explain why I quit my last job of almost 15 years. There were so many reasons, the biggest being I did not like where I was and what I was doing any longer. I was actually getting physically ill from the dread of it all. I needed to leave, but how do I address that in a interview.
Just saying that I wasn’t doing the kind of tasks I wanted and not using my abilities may not always work.
So why did I leave my last job.
Also describe a time I was in a team - what was my role and explain the outcome. I don’t know why but I totally stress with this so much I cannot think of a good response. Our dept. was a team, but I didn’t volunteer for outside committees like I could have , therefore I have few answers to draw upon.
I must have answers somewhere - I just don’t know how to develope/find them. Can’t someone help me with this. Jog my memory process somehow?
I am a team player, in fact I enjoy it, but examples ? how, where, why - HELP!!
Desperate for answers.
